In accordance with the Regulation of Minister of Law and Human Right of the Republic of Indonesia Number 26, 2013, citizen from 61 countries and 1 region are eligible for obtaining Visa on Arrival (VOA).This visa can be obtained directly when you are landed at the certain airports and seaport in Indonesia regardless of the purpose of your visits (Business, Tourist, Social). The Visa on Arrival is not a work visa nor a visitation visa. Therefore, it can not be converted to obtain other immigration permits. The maximum stays permitted for the visa on arrival is 30 days. If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, you need to mention your intention to stay longer. Visa on Arrival can be extended for another 30 days.
Tourists holding passport from the following 15 countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Chile, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Lao PDR, Macau, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) are eligible to enter and remain in Indonesia without a visa for 30 days.
In March 2015 Indonesian authorities announced that from April 2015 visas will be waived for citizens of 30 other countries, namely Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Russia, Qatar, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States.
For a visa waiver to enter into force Indonesian law stipulating mandatory reciprocity must be changed.
Tourist and Transit Visa on Arrival is available for nationals of these 52 countries and territories. A transit visa for up to 7 (seven) days costs USD10, and a tourist visa for up to 30 (thirty) days costs USD25. Nationalities not listed above should obtain a visa prior to departure. Visa Free Entry and Visa on Arrival facilities are available at the Immigration check-point at these ports and airports.
Nationals of the following 62 countries may apply for a Visa on Arrival for a length of stay of 30 days by paying USD35 at major entry points.

Once you have paid for and received your visa you will need to proceed to Immigration where your visa will be processed. Citizens of countries not on the visa on arrival or visa free lists will be required to apply for a visa before entering Indonesia. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Indonesia, and you must have proof of onward passage (either return or through tickets). If you cannot fulfill both of these requirements, you may not be allowed to enter the country. Citizens of countries neither on the VoA nor Visa-Free lists are required to apply for a visa overseas before travelling to Indonesia.
