Introduction
This showcase performance aims to present the most recent contemporary works from the fields of performance and theater in Indonesia. It consists of choreography works, play reading and launching, as well as performance art works. Performed within 45 to 75 minutes, each performance attempts to capture how Indonesian artists nowadays tackle and reconsider different issues in social dynamics, be it in religion, racial issues, or citizenship. The showcase also attempts to provide the participants and attendees of the 2024 AAS-in-Asia Conference -especially for those from the fields of Arts and Humanities- some slices of Indonesian contemporary performance and theater works. It is also targeted at students, both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as independent scholars, and artists. Each performance may or may not be followed by QnA and reception.
